Thanks for coming to my "Walk With Me and Other Dubious Imperatives" home page.  Kick your shoes off.  Coffee's on, and I just baked some cookies.  Hang!
.
"Walk With Me and Other Dubious Imperatives" is a collection of songs about love, work, devotion, and other completely avoidable but ultimately fatal human preoccupations.  It's true; we really probably can avoid doing all these things, and at one point or another we occasionally wish we had avoided one or more of them.  But if you're a person driven by any ambition or internal navigation in the least, those occupations are too compelling to avoid.  They're as much a part of humanity as arguing politics with that annoying relative who ruins every Thanksgiving dinner, so they're all song worthy.
.
"Walk With Me" is the story of a person who seeks escape from his current situation and meets a new friend, with whom they share the journey.  The songs descibe waypoints.

Here, you can find links to every song in the "Walk With Me and Other Dubious Imperatives" collection.  Every song's page has links to one or more videos, sheet music, and songwriter notes and production notes.  Every song also explains how to purchase it - and otherwise support my musical aspirations.

Walk With Me

Ride. Roll. Rock. Drive. Just how many car-related euphemisms are there for, um, that act we all crave that has so many other euphemisms for it? Stop counting. Here's a song dedicated to it.

Casual Rock and Roll

Hi. I'm me. Anything I say can and will be used against me. And I'd better never forget that.  I can't say I didn't warn myself. And I could give myself a good reference, but I'll wait until I ask for one.

Ethereal Folk

Confessionals don't have to be a drag. We can admit we do silly things and just talk about good things. Everyone doesn't need to know about the bad silly things. Love is good and silly. Let's do that.

Kickback Road Rock

When you're done, what's better than a road trip? And what's better than when you've really had it than a road trip with someone you really trust? How about letting that person drive and navigate?  All of the fun and none of the work.  Sign me up, baby

Eternal Singer-Songwriter Tunage

Life often leads us down some beautiful roads. We can enjoy them alone, but it's almost always more fun to share the journey with someone else. Yeah, it's gotta be the right person. But once you've got that, all journeys have promise.

Anthemic Rhythm and Blues

Is there anything more delicious than letting the sunshine in? Letting your loveshine out? Life's a beautiful thing when you're warm, isn't it? See how it is when your warmth warms someone else.

Percussive Afro-

Latin Folk

Sometimes we need to be reminded of things.  Sometimes those things are simple, sometimes they're routine, but sometimes they're the most basic things about friendship and sharing our lives.

Cowbell Rock

Dream. Dare. Do. Repeat whether or not you succeed. You might have to make a few sacrifices along the way. Sleep suffers, usually nightly. And it costs you more than just sleep. But do it anyway.

Thanks for coming by and giving me and my music a listen.  I hope you found something you like and something that stays with you.  Visits are always fun, and they're always welcome, but every artist's dream is to create something that moves others and endures.  Completion of a creative work is satisfying to an artist, but there's nothing like having one's creation remebered - and shared, just 'cuz.
.
Peace, strength, and good fortune to you.

Highly-Hyphenated Style Defying Rock

You think it's a small world until you try to paint it, right?  Maybe we're just smaller than we want to believe.  Either way, it really feels good to know you're not alone - and not forgotten.

The Introduction: our storyteller meets a new friend and provides a little context.  They're ready for something new, regardless of the outcome.
The Escape: without much ado, our storyteller and his new friend decide it's time for a road trip.  They're stepping into the unknown with few worries.
The Reciprocation: after a deliciously welcome ride into the night, our storyteller decides to return the favor.  It's already about give-and-take.
The Promise: our storyteller and their friend are clearly ready to level up the relationship.  At least our storyteller thinks so...
The Revelation: our storyteller realizes this friendship is going to be more than they imagined.  They decide to open some closely-guarded gates.
The Request: now that stories on both sides are presented and the horizon open, our storyteller presents a wonderful proposition: let's make the journey together. What as?  Well, time will tell, but for now let's just say that we'll be together.
The Observation: our partners have spent enough time getting to know each other.  They decide to look around and check out some other's stories
The Plea: as our partners discover the compelling stories that are all around them, they discover the one thing everyone has in common.
The Reflection: our storyteller reels from this amazing experience and seeks to share the tale.  But they find they're still loved in places they've known
